Meet Andover Litigation Attorney Fannie Minot

Fannie came to Gilbert & Renton with a wide range of experience in the insurance industry. After starting her legal career in New York City at Latham & Watkins, Fannie moved to the Boston area and worked at Warner & Stackpole (now Kirkpatrick & Lockhart) where she spent the principal portion of her time defending insurance companies in large insurance coverage matters involving environmental and hearing loss claims. Her practice then shifted to the insurance insolvency context where she spent five years in the Corporate Department of the Boston firm of Rackemann, Sawyer & Brewster representing the Massachusetts Division of Insurance in connection with the investigation, rehabilitation and liquidation of troubled insurance companies. The remainder of Fannie’s career has been representing policyholders, first as an in-house attorney at Cabot Corporation, a chemical company headquartered in Boston, then as a senior claims consultant at Marsh & McClennan, and finally here at Gilbert & Renton. Building off of her experience, Fannie now assists Gilbert & Renton’s corporate and individual clients in better understanding the extent and value of their current and historical insurance assets, as well as maximizing their insurance recoveries in an array of different situations.  This includes, among others, environmental remediation, alleged wrongdoing in the municipal context, directors and officer’s liability, bankruptcy, telecommunications, and life and disability insurance. Fannie’s creative analysis and keen sense of how insurance works provides significant value to each of Gilbert & Renton’s insurance projects.

Fannie is a graduate of Harvard College (1986) and Northwestern University School of Law (1991). She graduated from Phillips Academy in Andover, Massachusetts in 1982. She lives with her three children in South Hamilton, Massachusetts.
